Application Report - Demolition of heavily reinforced
concrete
Demolition of foundations
- demolition of pipeline foundations in rough country
The Job: Demolition of solid concrete foundations of a abandoned
pipeline in a remote area in Japan.
The requirements: Dense, impassable vegetation prohibited the use
of excavators and large demolition machines or equipment requiring
transporters or generators.
The solution: Darda rock and concrete splitters, by contrast,
were sufficiently compact to enable them to be transported to the
site without any problem. The splitting cylinders were powered by
a diesel-engine unit, enabling them to be used independently.
The foundations were initially split horizontally, then vertically,
producing small easily transportable sections. In a difficult situation
like this, the Darda method has proved to be an economical, timesaving
option.
